Then drive to the village of Pedra de Lume, which was the first settlement on the island of Sal. The village developed around a salina that existed in the area, located inside the volcano's crater. On site you will learn about the importance of the salt industry to the development of the island through. You will see the historic cable car that was once used to transport salt extracted from Salinas. The highlight of the tour is a visit to Salinas Salt Lake, the only salt lake in the world located in a caldera. Entrance to the lake area for an additional fee.
