Program Description
Discover the spectacular landscapes of southern Tunisia on a journey through desert scenery, traditional Berber settlements and one of the country's most beautiful oases.
Your adventure begins with a visit to Medenine, where you will see the distinctive ghorfas – former fortified granaries that reflect the region's unique architectural heritage. There will also be time to take photographs.
The tour continues to Ksar Ghilane, the southernmost palm oasis in Tunisia. Here, you can see the ruins of a Roman fort and enjoy a swim in the natural hot spring-fed pool. Optional activities, including quad biking and camel riding, are also available for an additional fee.
After lunch at a local restaurant, you will travel to Matmata to visit a traditional underground Berber house, where you will learn about the distinctive way of life that has shaped this remarkable region.

Reviews
On the way to the Sahara, we pass through the Atlas Mountains, where we take a brief photo break at a viewpoint. The views are beautiful. Then we continue to another point where you can drink their traditional green tea with thyme, very strong and sweet, worth trying. You can also buy scarves and arafat. There`s a person on site who can help you put them on. From there, it`s not far to the oasis. In the oasis, I recommend quad biking over camels. It`s a great attraction, riding between the dunes, and the speed of the quads alleviates the heat of the Sahara (camels move very slowly and don`t go very far). The quad biking takes about 45 minutes, the camels about an hour. They also help you put on your turbans for the Sahara (a tip: wear long, breathable pants and closed shoes, as the sand can be scalding). After the attractions, there`s time for a short swim in a thermal spring. After lunch at the oasis, you`ll continue your journey. Next, we visit a traditional Berber house, where the hosts offer us pancakes, honey, and olive oil. Then we travel to another underground house, where scenes from Star Wars were filmed (Luck Skywalker`s house), an additional fee applies. I recommend this tour; it`s worth seeing the sandy parts of the Sahara; in Egypt, the Sahara is exclusively rocky. I especially recommend quad biking and the opportunity to take photos during a short stop.
Everything was fine. We recommend it. The only thing that wasn`t working was the air conditioning in the bus.
